Day 1 - UK / Denver
Your holiday begins with a daytime flight to Denver - America’s ‘Mile High City’, where
you are met on arrival and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay. Gamblers, gunfights and wagon
trains were the Old West origins of the city, but contemporary Denver has shops and cafes in Victorian
style Larimer Square, restaurants and galleries in the converted warehouses of LoDo (the lower downtown
district), and street performers on the tree-lined 16th Street Mall. Muster the energy to enjoy the city
on an evening at leisure.

Day 2 - Denver / Cheyenne
On a tour of terrific landscapes from beginning to end, we make an early start this morning and take the
ultra-scenic route from one state capital to another, leaving Denver, Colorado for Cheyenne, Wyoming via
the regal Rocky Mountain National Park. Passing Rainbow Curve and choosing perfect vantage points for
panoramic photo-stops, we come to Estes Park and arrive late afternoon in the former railroad centre of
Cheyenne, with its flat grasslands and open skies, where we overnight.
Hotel: Holiday Inn
Day 3 - Cheyenne / Custer (Keystone)
Setting out early for eerily enchanting scenery, we continue north to the Black Hills region of South
Dakota. A special and spiritual place in the hearts of American Indians, these haunted hills are believed
to be the home of the Great Spirit. We will stop this afternoon at the Crazy Horse Memorial - where work
continues on what will be one of the greatest sculptures on earth. Begun in the 1940's, in honour of
the Sioux Indians, this massive mountain monument in the round will measure 640ft long by 560ft high. Our
overnight stay tonight is in the Black Hills town of Keystone.
Hotel: Presidents View Resort
Day 4 - Custer / Sheridan
Keep cameras to hand for a monumentally memorable journey today! We will stop at Mount Rushmore and its
carved granite faces of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt each 60 feet high from top
to chin. From this tribute to presidents past, we'll turn westward to cross back into Wyoming, arriving
late in the afternoon at the early ranching and railroad town of Sheridan, where we stay overnight.
Hotel: Holiday Inn
Day 5 - Sheridan / Yellowstone National Park
It's hard to avoid thoughts of cowboy movies in the country we're crossing today. We head for the
hills through the Big Horn mountain range, enjoying an interlude at Shell Falls and making as many photostops
as time allows before calling in at Cody for a lunch stop and your included visit to the intriguing Buffalo
Bill Historical Centre and Museum. America's first and largest National Park is our destination tonight,
and we arrive at our lodge in Yellowstone for an overnight stay.
Hotel: Yellowstone National Park Lodges
Day 6 - Yellowstone National Park / Jackson Hole
Crystal cool waterfalls, steaming volcanic spouts, wildlife and wilderness from horizon to horizon. Nothing
prepares you for Yellowstone's landscape, an inimitable and everchanging sculpture by nature and time.
A full day of touring and photo opportunities let you witness the hourly blow of the Old Faithful geyser,
before crossing the splendid Grand Teton National Park to Jackson Hole, for a two night stay at the feet of
the soaring Teton mountain range.
Hotel: Painted Buffalo Inn (08) Elk Country Inn (09)
Day 7 - Jackson Hole
A well timed break mid-way through your mid-west travels, we spend a day at leisure in this mountain valley
town. A premier ski spot in winter, the town's lively summer persona includes re-enactments of frontier
justice with well played gunfights in the square. A boardwalk surrounds the rustic town square, a natural
meeting point for leisurely strolling. And for those who enjoy the great outdoors - it's all around you here.
Day 8 - Jackson Hole / Salt Lake City
From Wyoming to Utah via Idaho, the scenery changes dramatically today from river rapids to dust dry deserts, as
we swap the uninhabited miles for a taste of metropolitan living. We arrive in Salt Lake City for an afternoon
sightseeing tour that takes in Temple Square, the Capitol and City Hall. Then your time is your own to explore
the shops of Farmers Market and perhaps try the restaurants on Trolley Square for a relaxed evening meal.
Hotel: Howard Johnson Express Meals: B
Day 9 - Salt Lake City / Bryce Canyon
Travelling due south from the salt desert plains, we come to the sandstone cliffs of Bryce Canyon National Park.
We'll call at Inspiration and Sunset Points before entering the aptly named Red Rock Canyon - a gift from the
gods for every camera-toting tourist, it catches the sunlight in fantastic colour contrasts. There's time to
walk the canyon rim before heading for our Bryce Canyon hotel for an evening at leisure and overnight stay.
Hotel: Best Western Ruby's Inn
Day 10 - Bryce Canyon / Page
Rock formations, shaped and sculpted by centuries of wind and water, rise like ethereal cathedrals from the floor
of Zion National Park. Red walled canyons open into lush green valleys along the banks of the Virgin River and
beside the shores of the Emerald Lakes. Enjoy the lovely walking trails with lush hanging gardens and cool air.
All these are in our sights today as we enjoy the Park. The beauty continues as we cross into Arizona for an
overnight stay in Page - set at the water's edge of man-made Lake Powell.
Hotel: Best Western Arizona Inn
Day 11 - Page / Grand Canyon
The crescendo of any canyon tour must be the awesome Grand Canyon - the daddy of them all and the country's most
famous natural attraction. Add an extra dimension to a day of spectacular sights with an optional flightseeing tour
, and get an eagle's eye view of Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon. Those not taking the optional flight can
enjoy the land journey through colourwashed sandscapes in the Painted Desert to the breathtaking Grand Canyon. An
evening at leisure allows you to explore the rocky rim.
Hotel: Grand Canyon National Park Lodges
*Unlike other tour operators, Jetsave is featuring accommodation within the National Park so, why not take the opportunity to walk to the South Rim & watch the sunset or sunrise!
Day 12 - Grand Canyon / Durango
It's an early start for a journey through time today as we leave the Grand Canyon to return to Colorado. Our route
takes us through the intriguing scenery of Mesa Verde National Park, where we visit the Museum and Spruce Tree House,
and retrace the tracks of Anazazi Indians to the well preserved structures of their cliff dwellings. More recent
history brings character and atmosphere to the old mining town of Durango, which we reach in the evening for a two
night stay.
Hotel: Holiday Inn
Day 13 - Durango
There's an excellent optional excursion today that few visitors would want to miss. The tour begins with a journey
aboard the Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Travelling through the remotest reaches of wilderness, where only horse and
iron horse can go, the old rails echo the route of the Rio Grande to bring you to Silverton in time for lunch and some
souvenir shopping. Our return is by coach, on a less forbidding road route, arriving in time for an evening at leisure.
Day 14 - Durango / Denver
The final full day of your tour is as full of contrasts as the first. This last leg of the journey takes us along the
Navajo Trail Highway through the Alpine landscapes of the San Juan National Forest, across the continental divide at
Wolf Creek Pass, and down into the San Luis Valley to cross the Arkansas River and return to our starting point, Denver,
for your final overnight stay.
Hotel: Comfort Inn Denver Meals: B
